We're going to have a little fun with this installment of Internet marketing A-Z. We're up to the letter U and that stands for URL. Oh how so many marketers take their URLs for granted and treat them Streamyx Package the little orphan boy from Oliver. Well, those days need to end NOW if you're one of those folks. Your URL is just as important as anything else in your business. This article is going to explain why and what you can do to make the most out of your URL.
Okay, let me ask you a question. If somebody asks you where they can go to find some information, what do you tell them? You tell them to go to the search engines. More likely, you tell them to go to Google and look it up. And if by some chance this person doesn't know what Google is and asks you for the URL, what do you say? You say, "Just go to Google dot com." How's that for simple? That's the power of the URL. Now imagine if Google's URL was something like "typeinyoursearchstringhere dot com." Okay, it's not the worst thing in the world, but it's certainly not as easy to remember as Google dot com.
When you choose a domain, you want to packages for WiFi @ Home with Streamyx Combo be thinking about making it easy for the prospect to remember. A catchy phrase or even an abbreviation will do fine. Even long phrases are fine as long as they're memorable. But in general, short domain names are better because they're easier to remember.
Okay, but what if you're not fortunate enough to get the domain name that you really want and you have to settle for one that's a little longer and not as easy to remember? Well, there are ways to shorten your URLs so that the one your prospect is going to isn't so hard to remember. Tiny URL dot com is an option, although those URLs are so ugly to look at. Plus, who's going to remember ZSIH7 or whatever the URL is? Still, it does beat "this-is-my-really-long-web-site-url/my-subdomain/my-web-page.html" that nobody on this Earth is going to remember.
Point is, when you choose URLs for your business, this is a choice you are going to have to live with forever and ever. There is no going back. Sure, you can always dump the domain if you want, but then all your hard work is going to go out the window with it. So make sure you choose a URL that's going to help your business...not hurt it.
To YOUR Success,
Steven Wagenheim
